Tattoo cover-ups

Much thought must be put into getting a tattoo, because it is a career high. The design should be something that will not be broken or outdated. Regardless of how thought is actually much more put into it, sometimes the tattoo ends up needing a cover up.

Cover ups are done for several reasons. One of the most common reasons is to give the tattoo a fresh, new look. Tattoos that have faded over time can be played until it looks like new. Newly applied crisp lines can clear up any confusion around the edges. Additional color can be set to enliven the design.

Sometimes the original tattoo needs brightened by bleaching, but can be achieved by adding more color and design aspects. A black tattoo can be relieved by adding more detail as a background color. Many colors can be applied over the old black ink with a nice effect too.

Tattoo cover ups are often done when the old design is no longer necessary for the client. For example, a woman can have a tattoo applied sporting the name of her boyfriend. Years later, the relationship no longer exists but the tattoo remains for life. Cover ups can completely change the look of the tattoo being part of it that are no longer desirable appear to have disappeared.

Tattoo cover ups are needed when the original tattoo is of poor quality. Prison tattoos are often in disguise. The tattoos were made by amateurs are also covered. These old tattoos are often small or done with thin lines that are easy to fill.

Even when there is a previous tattoo, a cover-up is still necessary sometimes. These are the cases where the scars are covered with art. Millions have tattoos applied to cover scars that they no longer want to see or feel it's not very pleasing to the eye. Unless the scars are large and have caused extensive damage to the skin, usually a cover-up can be done. Even in very large scars, many good tattoo artists can still design something to work.

When a tattoo cover up is necessary, the most important is finding a good tattoo artist and talent. A tattoo artist who can design a great picture for the original tattoo is good. A tattoo artist who can design a tattoo to cover an existing tattoo design is new and different kind of artist talent needed for a successful cover-up.

Most tattoo artists do not have samples of cover they have done on the screen. To view these will often have to ask specifically for them. Pay close attention to the details of the cover ups and compare the old to the new tattoo. A large solid tattoo should not be applied on a small tattoo more easily than the previous show through.

Although tattoos are permanent, may be covered and retouched. alterations have been reported to be a little lighter and often painful repeat visits are necessary to fully complete the design. The option is there, however, and if a great artist is the end result should be impressive.
